Most importantly raw sausage can be contaminated with bacteria such as Salmonella. The sausages that line the shelves of a typical supermarket are inappropriate for cats. Fat is good for cats but the high concentration in sausage can be problematic so moderation is key.
Cats are naturally curious and have an amazing sense of smell. Most cats are only exposed to lactose from their mothers milk when they are kittens. Because kittens only drink from their mothers milk for a few weeks their digestive systems are often not equipped to handle a reintroduction to lactose.
Cats can eat plenty of human foods such as brown rice meat eggs and vegetables. Duck meat is also safe but is higher in fat so it should be fed more sparingly. But a steady diet of tuna prepared for humans can lead to malnutrition because it wont have all the nutrients a cat needs.
As we saw in the video cats can and will eat sausage. Some sausages are also seasoned with spice. Also be sure to opt for lower-fat low-sodium sausage made with chicken or turkey rather than pork.
